Wandering: Daniel and I decided that we wanted to do some sightseeing before leaving Salt Lake City, but nothing too generic, so of course I googled where we could find some unique shops and cool street art. Walking around downtown… Continue Reading →

Things to do between Salt Lake City and Jackson Hole

October 15, 2015roxy 3 Comments

I apologize for being so photo heavy, but our vacation out west was pretty much the best. I got a taste last December in Big Sky, Montana [where I also want to return!], but on this trip, without snow, we… Continue Reading →

I’m in Wyoming for a wedding, and it was quite an adventure getting here! We flew into Salt Lake City because it was cheaper, and seemed like the drive to Jackson would be amazing. AND IT WAS. Seriously. I am… Continue Reading →

We start back at work this week. Things are still weird. Our hearts hurt and our brains are tired. Thank you to everyone who has shared and donated to Lila’s teacher’s fund. We are so grateful! #winterstorm #texasfreeze #snowstorm
If we were just a bit further north our Houston “snow” would be so much softer.
Look at these cutie pie snow bunnies. 🥰 #houstonsnow #southernsnow

We are back with another weather-related craft ins We are back with another weather-related craft inspired by @heroelementary. #AD Lila recently realized that when the weather changes, so do our activities. Hero Elementary empowers kids to make a difference in their own homes and beyond by actively doing science.
On this particular day we were about to take her new Hero Elementary kite out for a spin before we realized, oops – that’s not possible today. Since I’m not allowed to hibernate on a cold wet day, we craft! :-) Make your own giant paper bag snowflakes while exploring patterns and seasonal changes! (The link is in my stories and profile.) Watch Hero Elementary on @PBSKIDS. Check your local listings for times or watch anytime on PBSKIDS.org or on the PBS KIDS video app!

We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support our family has received since Sebastian’s hospital stay. Thank you all so much for your words, actions, thoughts, and prayers. We are so lucky. 🥰
And since I have some new friends: Hi! Welcome! I am Roxy and my husband is Daniel. We both work in education.
Lila (Lee-lah) is 4. She is a pretty hilarious kid. The twins are 1. Alaric (Uh-lar-ic) is one minute older. Beware of his dimples. Sebastian was born with VACTERL association and spent a month in the NICU. He’s had a few hospital stays afterward, and has most recently been diagnosed with pharyngeal dysphagia. Despite all this he is the happiest baby. You can read loads more about him on my blog.
Osa is our sweet pup. She is 11. And we also have two cats (that hate each other). ❤️
Happy birthday to me from the throes of medically Happy birthday to me from the throes of medically complex motherhood.
(We’ll “celebrate” once we are ALL back home. ❤️) #vacterl #twinmom #whatissleep
Sebastian had some really good FaceTime calls last Sebastian had some really good FaceTime calls last night. He is acting more like himself. It both melts my heart and breaks my heart.
We are waiting until Tuesday. He’ll have another swallow study because he aspirated after his first. 😞 Some people think it might be chronic, some people think he’s too sick because the study was too close to the incident.
Why is his life so hard? My sweet boy.
