I’ve been wanting to share Sebastian’s details on my blog for a long time, but was too emotional during the whole process to even attempt it. Thank goodness for Instagram, where I could share snippets almost on the daily in… Continue Reading →

Happy birthday to me from the throes of medically Happy birthday to me from the throes of medically complex motherhood.

Sebastian had some really good FaceTime calls last Sebastian had some really good FaceTime calls last night. He is acting more like himself. It both melts my heart and breaks my heart.
We are waiting until Tuesday. He’ll have another swallow study because he aspirated after his first. 😞 Some people think it might be chronic, some people think he’s too sick because the study was too close to the incident.
Why is his life so hard? My sweet boy.
Hold your babies close. I have so many regrets. I Hold your babies close. I have so many regrets. I regret requesting some time to decompress alone, I regret putting my headphones in to make the kids’ dinner. I regret even MAKING the stupid dinner that almost killed Sebastian.
Spend time with the kids. Put off the chores and spend time with your family.
Sebastian choked on his dinner and received CPR after the back blows didn’t work. In the hospital they discovered that he aspirated a lot of food. It’s been a rough 24 hours. He’s finally sleeping comfortably. His breathing is looking and sounding better. Thank you everyone for your kind words, prayers, and well wishes. ❤️ I can’t be here with him without you.
Y’all know how much we value education around he Y’all know how much we value education around here – #AD which is why we fully support @PBSKIDS educational programming, like @heroelementary. It helps create a love of science, helping kids realize they all have Superpowers of Science that will enable them to solve problems when they think and act like scientists. Lila is already a curious little kitty, but after watching an episode, she puts on her metaphorical lab coat, and starts problem solving just a tad more than usual. After a few questions about characteristics of snow and our lack of it, Lila and I used our #SuperpowersofScience to make fake snow with just two ingredients! Check my stories for a little behind the scenes action, as well as a link (also in my profile). What other cool science activities have you done with your kid(s)? Watch Hero Elementary on PBS KIDS. Check your local listings for times or watch anytime on PBSKIDS.org or on the PBS KIDS video app!

Thank you so much to the hard working individuals Thank you so much to the hard working individuals at the Immunization Clinic in Stafford. It’s amazing the amount of hope that is in a little needle (which I *barely* felt).
Working in an elementary school is risky enough, then add an immunocompromised child and at-risk parents to the mix. ❤️
The clinic employees were so kind and informative. We found out just how chaotic this roll out has been. There’s the tiniest light at the end of the tunnel, but so much work left to do.
PS I fully plan to continue the same precautions I’ve been taking going forward.
PPS thanks so much to everyone for their support! I’ve turned commenting off on this post because I won’t be able to keep an eye on it as closely since educators are back at work! 👌🏼
One week into our holiday break and we are eating One week into our holiday break and we are eating real good. 🤣😅 Thanks so much to @blackbeardiner for your delicious family meals we were able to pick up curbside.
If you visit or pick up in December make sure to order a holiday dessert - they’ll be donating $1 from each sale to Make A Wish. ❤️
Daniel had the great idea of checking out a drive Daniel had the great idea of checking out a drive through dinosaur exhibit - @jurassicquest. Lila totally loved it and even the boys were entertained. Plus the weather was perfect for driving around with the windows down. 🥰
Sometimes you just gotta put on your favorite thin Sometimes you just gotta put on your favorite things and smile at a wall. 🥰🤣
We had quite a Sebastian health scare recently (check the first set of TWINS XI stories), I forgot about half of Lila’s virtual Santa visit, and just spent about 5 hours writing two sponsored blog drafts (w/socials). 😅
Brain = mush
How are *you* holding up? 🤪
