workin on my postpartum fitness with LALA

This post is a compensated campaign in collaboration with LALA® Yogurt Smoothies and WeAllGrow Latina. #LALAChallenge

Most of my friends know that I finally started working out again recently. I’m not talking about walks with the dog and baby, or my feeble attempts to start running again. I am back at Crossfit! And that’s why my friends know: crossfitters like to share. ha!

Summer is around the corner. Last year I got a free pass [hello, preggo!]. This year I need to tighten things up. My husband and I want to hit up some water for our anniversary in May, and there are way too many bathing-suit-requiring events already in the works for June, July, and August!

When I talk about my need to be fit, I just mean I want to be comfortable in my skin. After the baby, things moved around and parts of me are still pretty fluffy. Hopefully I can return to some semblance of myself. The thing is, the exercising bit doesn’t even play the biggest role in my fitness goals. It’s time to be even more aware of what is going into my body. The baby and all of the breastfeeding keep me in check for the most part, but there are quite a few items it’s time to “give up” [FYI, I’m using that term pretty loosely].

Something I do not need to give up: my LALA® Yogurt Smoothies. I mentioned soon after LS was born that I was hooked on the pecan LALA® Yogurt Smoothies. They also contain real fruit, protein, and are nutritious in general, which is perfect for my vegetarian diet + gym combination. There are plenty of other health benefits to eating yogurt daily, but it’s definitely easier when you can drink it. Especially since LS is so much more handy lately. She gets passed around at meal time just to keep her out of everyone’s food. ha!

More recently I picked up the Pomegranate Blueberry flavor at H-E-B. If you live in Texas you know what a big deal H-E-B is. Along with being everyone’s favorite grocery store, they started 2017 with their 8th annual H-E-B Slimdown Challenge. There are a select few chosen to participate, but the program sends a great message, and allows you to follow along with the weekly meals and workouts. The coolest part is that throughout the store they’ve placed health tips and quick recipes that are under 400 calories per serving. What what!

How are you prepping for summer?

xoxo

P.S. Drinking my yogurt regularly is another way I am keeping my milk supply up. because motherhood is my life now. 🙂

  1. Love it! Things move a bit post-baby – I found training again post-natally a bit weird for the first few months but it felt great to get out of the house and really get moving! Best of luck with training over the next few months.

  2. Oooh! I’m going to have to check these out. I’ve been seriously slacking at getting back to fitness postpartum 🙁 I need a LOT of help these days!
