Oral health care in the Fall months

Oral health care is important no matter what the season, but I’d say you definitely want to be on top of your game in the cooler months when you may be altering your beauty routine accordingly.

In the summer I like to stick to lighter shades of lip colors that accentuate my tan, but come fall and I am ready to sport a darker lip. And I recently bought some even warmer tones to play with! Too bad that also means there is a higher contrast with the shade of my teeth! No worries!

My sister has been a dentist for almost 4 years now and highly recommends Philips Sonicare Flexcare Platinum Connected Sonic Electric Toothbrush. She has even given them as Christmas gifts in the past! I know my parents both use them thanks to her recommendation! 🙂

There’s even a Philips Sonicare app that you can you can personalize and instantly connect to the toothbrush. It encourages brushing for 3 minutes, as well as offering other real-time feedback. For example, when I stopped too early it sent a motivational message, so I pushed on through! The app even shows you the spots you have left to brush. And the brush moves so quickly, no wonder it offers 10x more plaque removal in just two weeks! My sister will be pretty impressed at my next dentist visit – especially since she likes to comment on my coffee stains. ha!

While I don’t brush with my Philips Sonicare Flexcare Platinum Connected Sonic Electric Toothbrush after every meal, 2-3 times a day [depending on if I am going out] has definitely worked out really well for me. And now that I will be doing so for the appropriate amounts of time, and hitting each troubled area, I can laugh and smile and get up close in my shades of red lipstick – confidently.

Lip routine:

  • Three minutes of brushing thanks to the Philips Sonicare App.
  • Apply a similar shade lip pencil.
  • One or two shades of lipstick on top, make sure to get the corners.
  • Dab setting powder on with a brush.

Cool fact: while newborns can’t see all that clearly, they are drawn to higher contrasts. So red lipstick and a healthy smile really draw her attention!

What are your brushing routines like? Have you considered oral health care when applying those darker shades, too?

xoxo

  1. What a cool fact!! Does it make you want to wear the lipstick more often then?… I will say that 3 minutes makes my 2 minute toothbrush feel measly. I want to know where that extra time is added in! >.<
