Since the fall of 2014, I’ve been struggling with my weight. I’m currently at my heaviest, but am slowly working on it. Because of my new schedule, I’ve been attending Crossfit at random, which is way off of where I was. I still skate and run 3-4 times a week, but the true difference-maker is my added lifting at Crossfit. As soon as I get back on track with that [and continue my updated “diet”] I should start to see results…and hope to share them, too!
A few months ago I injured my right wrist and have been very hesitant to work on my handstands. I finally ordered some wrist wraps the other day. They’re great! I can’t wait to use them when we lift, too. It’s been painfully annoying. I could tell my back muscles were out of shape. After two days of handstand work I acquired a large knot. I think it affected my breathing at practice the other night. Can’t be sure.
These photographs are from the Houston Area Women’s Center 5K [Race Against Violence]. My roller derby team, as well as other leaguemates, are very supportive of the organization. A group of us run or walk the race each year [for the past 3]. It’s a fun tradition I hope to maintain even after my roller derby days are over. 🙂
I stupidly parked way too far from the race itself. But what a pretty view on my [speed] walk to the startling line. 🙂
That's one of my most favorite views when I run along Buffalo Bayou.
