us three ladies

My family spent Mother’s Day weekend the way my mom loves it: good food and the company of both daughters. Since my sister and I graduated high school, we have not lived at home simultaneously in years. Our lives in Houston have also been out of sync. I was in Austin, then home…shortly after I moved back she left for Dallas, then back home briefly, then off to Fort Worth. Usually the only time we get to spend together is during the longer holiday breaks. Welcome to grown-up life.

While my sister and I definitely don’t need just one day out of the year to show our appreciation, it definitely assists in clearing schedules. “Are you busy this weekend?” “Sorry, it’s Mothers Day!” – a very valid reason indeed.

Mom’s holding Olay Pro-X [what I am also using to treat my face].

Weekend activities included breakfast the day before [because HELLO one hour + waits on Sunday!], a friend’s bridal shower, and lunch and hanging out on the actual occasion. 🙂

Another special occasion? Buster turns nine! Which also means that Daniel and I turn nine – WHOA. Nine years with this guy. He must be pretty cute. 😉
I will never forget the day I drove out to Conroe, TX to pick up this little 2 month old puppy. She was a handful at first, but we quickly figured each other out, for the most part. Even if she craved my footwear a little too often.

Do you have any Mother’s Day traditions?
