Daily life for the next few days will consist of relaxing and snowboarding in Winter Park, Colorado!
My friend Paula says that just hearing about my life is exhausting. ha! Sometimes it does sound overwhelming, even to me. I do love traveling, but yes, everyone needs some down time every once in a while. Lucky for me I have some coming up. 🙂
what i wore – downtown Bastrop, TX
[[Okay so technically the swing photos are still in Austin – we were on our way out of town.]]
My friend Kiki is doing a link up and the first topic is Daily Life. Often I often try [and fail] to create a photo an hour post. I’m not sure why I struggle with those the most. My day to days tend to vary a bit. I’m not the type of person that wants to be defined by her job, so I do so much more outside of my 8-4. On Mondays and Tuesdays [and some Fridays] I go straight from work to CrossFit. Then I’ll visit my parents and have dinner there…then home where I rough house with the animals, take care of some blogging, and hang with Daniel a bit. Until he starts watching something violent on Netflix, and then I grab my laptop and lay in bed…or watch Everwood. 🙂 Wednesdays and Thursdays [and Sunday evenings] are reserved for rollerderby.
Weekends are so much more interesting! Since the beginning of this year [well, really since the last couple weeks of December] I have only spent ONE weekend in Houston. WHAT. Ya, weekends have been way cooler than my weekdays, though I am getting a little burnt out.
There’s been a lot of Austin and Fort Worth in this mix. A typical roadtrippin’ weekend consists of me [and sometimes Daniel] packing a suitcase, grabbing a bottle of water, and driving to a Bucee’s for a bathroom break, photo break, etc. 🙂 If there’s something cool on the side of the road, like a giant squirrel, then I will also stop for a photo op! Another pitstop might be exploring a small town because I saw a sign that said “historic downtown Bastrop.” Pretty neat.
“SO COLD!!”

Daniel is never surprised when I want to pull over just to take photographs of really cool walls or doors. I’ve got strange fascination with them. Especially if they’re brick. There’s just something beautiful about brick walls…they’ve got a beautiful aging process. Our guest bedroom is mainly decorated with photos of doors and walls if that tells you anything. 🙂

I love your photos!! I just want to stay here all day and look at them. You seem to have the same sort of attraction for old and worn buildings and things that I do. I wish I had my nice camera that I have now back when I was in grad school. I took all these photos of great stuff with my crappy camera…yeah. Crappy photos. In any case, I don't know how you do it all because you're so busy! I love hearing about your day and especially love your travel posts! Thanks for linking up. 🙂
Your fox ring is SO. FRIGGIN. CUTE!! Also, I think we'd be great friends… I loved your answer to Kirsten's call for something about Daily Life – it gave us a great snapshot of what you do every day.
Beautiful photos! Thanks
What fun photos! I'm glad you joined the link-up :).
Your photos are amazing! I love the key necklace, too. I grew up in Arkansas, and both of my boys were born there, but we moved to Texas in 2007. I still love all the Texas stuff! Texans are proud of their state. Visiting from Kirsten's link up.
I don't do violent Netflix either!! 🙂 Love your pictures!
I am so impressed by your photography skills. I love this!
