I don’t have any fancy clothes. I appreciate a cute dress, and I wear skirts to work, but fancy? Nope.
My mom insisted I go dress shopping with her a couple weeks before my cousin’s wedding.
“I have dresses, mom.”
“You don’t own anything nice.”
“…fine”
It’s true. The phrase “formal attire” scares the crap outta me. And you know what else? A shopping mall on the weekend. *faint*
But I went! And after visiting a couple department stores and a few more boutiques, I convinced my mom to go to French Connection UK [“I don’t like that acronym.”], where every few months I stand in front of a $500 dress and wish and wish and wish.
I tried on a few items. 3 of the 5 were far too expensive. ๐ Then there was this one. The vintage cut was oh-so-slimming, it had sleeves [Team Sleeves!], and the fabric was thick and sturdy. The cost was much more than I am used to paying for a dress [nowhere near $500, btw! that’s just absurd on my teacher salary], but it was perfect. And I needed a nice dress.
Oh, and it matched Daniel’s suit. ๐
You wanna hear something strange? I didn’t even think about taking photos for a “what i wore” post. I felt so out of character in such a new dress. You are probably giggling at the fact that I even refer to my dress as fancy. ๐
[Side bar: When I first purchased my Honda Civic, I told Daniel it could be our “fancy” car, and the dogs would only be allowed in his Honda Fit. He said he loved me because I thought my Civic was fancy. :)]
You all look great!
I got my first real fancy dress recently too. haha It's so weird to have fancy clothes!
Looking good! ๐
