Miami Tid Bits

I hope all you Americans had a safe Independence Day yesterday. 🙂
Here are some bits from around my family’s home.
Red beans, rice, a fried egg, avocado, and a piece of Cuban bread.
Between my grandmother and aunt’s cooking, and my grandfather’s love for avocados, there is always something amazing to eat. And the fact that my gramps buys a fresh loaf of Cuban bread every morning? YUM.

Cookies don’t get me too excited. Well, except for oreos…And I am only allowed to buy them if a) I am on vacation, or b) I am donating them to a party. 🙂

Decorations around the house…of houses. <3
“mis casitas”- says my abuela. haha

Baby mangos. 🙂

One of my favorite pieces of jewelry.

My cousin Ely, and my 2nd favorite drink. WATER. Can you guess what #1 is?? 🙂

Daniel brought me back a pretty sweet journal from his trip to Wyoming. I have been using it. <3 I find comfort in notebooks…writing lists, ideas…and keep it nearby.

I’ve watched a few episodes of the Walking Dead and decided to finally read the comics. Daniel has had them for a while, but I was a bit hesitant…afraid that I’d have nightmares. The comics are really good! I just finished #3…now if only Daniel can figure out to whom he lent the next few…
Can you tell who I have been missing lately?

  1. Woo I love the Walking Dead Comics! I was so into the story, I bought all the Compendiums and Omnibi out at once and then the individual comics from 76-current (#100 is about to come out!)Let me know if you ever want to compare stories on the books!

Also, I love your necklace. Is that a real shark tooth?

  2. That food in the first photo looks yummy, mostly because I grew up eating similar foods cooked by my Cuban dad. What is this Cuban bread you speak of, though? Very curious! 🙂

  3. What a pretty journal. I can never have enough journals!!! I've been wanting to read The Walking Dead graphic novels, but something always gets in the way. I've watch the show though and I'm excited for the new season.
