lately the league has been revamping itself. working us harder, drilling us more. it’s been extremely beneficial. i had fun scrimmaging a couple months ago until the big girls started visiting and i could see how far behind i was! the hitting, passing, &pack drills we’ve been working on help me see where i need work as well as where i am improving.
for example, i STILL need to practice hitting – BUT i have discovered that i can take a hit pretty well [aka without falling]. plus the hrd girls that have been practicing with us have been real nice about showing me how to use my [lack of] height to aim for weaker spots. i’ve also become a bit more aware of my surroundings…which i used to get yelled at about…a lot. haha
i’m feeling pretty excited to start scrimmaging again. 🙂
we’re moving to a new location, too…it’s so far! but it’s sooo nice!
not sure if i mentioned this, but a few weeks ago i took a couple pretty hard falls while scrimmaging with the hrd ladies. my left knee is kinda funky. i’ve never had an injury before, so it’s pretty frustrating having to go easy on it. although i believe it’s healing up…that, and i keep flopping over onto my thigh to avoid landing on it. haha perpetual bruise. always.
p.s. in regards to my super sick tee…i bought it because of this daily situation:
“miss, you’re short”
“thank you, captain obvious!”
p.p.s. on my way out of practice tonight, someone told me they follow my blog.
SO glad the parking lot was dark because i think i turned bright red…
