-pack lighter than what you think packing light is.
-take travel tide packs for doing laundry.
-if you have any meds for relaxing, TAKE THEM.
-order vegetarian when you buy your plane tickets…you get your food about 30 minutes early ๐
-dress in layers
-buy water shoes if you’re going to a beach
-borrow someone’s underwater camera ๐
-if you take a lot of photos, take your laptop for transferring
-grab a couple dvds to keep yourself entertained on the plane
-bring a book you are really into
-wash your face often [this is when break outs occur!]
-buy those little 3oz empty bottles to fill with your own shamp and conditioner
-take some travel soap just in case!
-make sure you have a power converter
-bring a list of folks you need to buy souvs for
-of course buy your peeps souvs, but don’t forget about yourself ๐
-stop your mail
-have a friend check your home often and get the paper/mail
-if you wear nail polish often, make sure you take supplies
-if you’d like to do any crafting on your trip pack your scissors on the luggage you are CHECKING
-speaking
of which, just check a piece of luggage. it makes walking around the
airport WAY easier when you just have one thing in your arms. ugh. wish i
had decided to do that before!
-make an itinerary and send it to your friends and family
-if you plan on getting to the airport real early, do your hair and make up there
-scan the same items you copies and keep it in your email and a family member’s
-wear sneakers for walking around all day. it hurts to be fashionable for 8-10 hours
-shorts are best, but dresses can work [hope for no wind…]
-keep a snack in your bag [for yourself or stray dogs ๐ ]
-don’t drink too much on the plane unless you want to be getting up multiple times!
-the pressure doesn’t affect my ears, but if it does, chew gum or suck on a candy
-decide at breakfast or the night before what you’d like to see and make a checklist
-maps
are your friend. usually hotels have cool ones with pictures, but you
can also buy the touristy maps with everything already labeled.
-those top ten books are handy for picking out restaurants!
-don’t forget sunglasses!
-it’s nice to get a tan that first day of walking, but bring a hat so you don’t burn up!
-on that note: sunscreen!
-take a purse/bag you can wear over your chest. i didn’t have any security issues, but it does happen.
[but wear it in front and not in back like this picture below…]
-email home when you can ๐
-beware of summer crowds in popular places
-keep some money in your pocket, and some in your bag [separate it]
-do things early in the morning
-keep aware of your surroundings and make good decisions ๐
good luck ๐
Hi! Stumbled upon your site and wanted to drop you a line. Loved this post in particular. You're an awesome writer. I'm working on my own music festival blog that centers around travel and thought your blog would be great to reference for future posts.
Should also mention I started following you, drop me a link and follow back if you can! Cheers ๐
