I
keep saying Barcelona, but Daniel and I were probably in Barcelona for a
total of 24 hours. We arrived in BCN on July 10th and a few hours
later were driving to Calella [part of Costa Brava] with Carlos and his
girlfriend Aida, where we’d be spending most of our time in Spain.
To
say that I have eaten far too much is quite an understatement. Between
Aida’s special vegetable cutting skills and Carlos’s amazing cooking
skills – Daniel and I ate a ton!
Our
days at the beach were incredibly fun and incredibly peaceful. We were
finally able to wake up late, then we ate fresh bread toasted in olive
oil with tomato spread and fruit! Off to the beach we went, slathered in
spf 50. Because I “lost” my original giant hat, I went and bought a
cowboy hat! ha!
All for of us spent about 3 – 4 hours at the beach, and then we’d head home to shower, lounge, and think about dinner.
The
snorkeling was amazing. Fish constantly surrounded us. I kept
freaking out at first because water would leak into my mask or breathing
tube [snorkel? haha], but finally towards the end of our trip I calmed
down. Daniel is an expert! Carlos and Aida seemed to have no problems
at all. We all got some pretty sweet underwater pics. Notice I blurred
my face…because my small face squished up by a mask is not a very
good combination! haha
me: “What are some things we did in Calella? I just want to make sure I didn’t miss anything.”
carlos:
“Umm…sat around, ate, laid on the beach, saw boobs, WATCHED SPAIN
BECOME THE UNIVERSAL WORLD CHAMPION, went to those rocks, snooooorkeled,
snorkeled some more, saw some stars, drank some mojitos, talked about
cuba, talked about religion [A LOT]…”
